Real Bar B Q Places To Eat In Florence Sc.

Submitted by: Eulah Szubinski

I grew up in South Carolina. In fact, my ancestors were one of the first Europeans to land on the Carolina Shore. I’ve eaten in every single barbeque place within South Carolina that’s worth trying and beyond my share of the ones which weren’t. You can surely bet your short ribs I know a thing or two about Barbeque. If it’s true, it ain’t bragging.

You could wake me from a dead slumber and I’ll mix a batch of barbeque sauce that’ll reform your life. I know the best sugar and white vinegar sauce, the very best tomato base sauce and the best absolutely-to-die-for traditional Carolina type mustard base sauce. Don’t bother taking me to the hospital if I’m ever in a car wreck and need a transfusion. These guys can not help me. Get me to the closest authentic, down home barbecue joint and plug me right into a bottle of barbecue sauce.

I’ll admit, when many people think about Florence, they don’t consider highbrow cuisine. They most likely think about tobacco or cotton or the dang highway as well as just getting on down the road. That would certainly be a miscalculation. You see, the trouble with most people whenever it pertains to dining is they don’t know the distinction between really good food and a rubber yoga mat. I’m not making this up. Last evening on the news, a national restaurant chain admitted to putting the very same substance in their sandwich buns that’s used to develop foam neoprene yoga exercise mats. People really did not even know they were dining it.

Here’s the best way you can easily discriminate between good food and foam neoprene. In the event that the food you’re eating reminds you of a church supper on the grounds, why, that is truly good food. , if it reminds you of a television commercial spit it out.. It quite likely has plastic in it and goodness knows what other things. Supposing that you have no idea exactly what a church dinner on the grounds is, you just best get your behind in the closest Baptist church. African-american or white, it really don’t make no difference, just get in there and get saved. We can talk barbecue.

Certainly there’s several conglomerate barbecue establishments in town and one snuck up from Georgia, although it ain’t all bad. You’ll do alright if you go to any of these establishments, however you can eat chain restaurant barbecue anyplace. When you find yourself in Florence why not treat yourself to some real, South Carolina style barbeque along with a Florence flare. Expand your gastronomical boundaries and get a little down home culture too.

Here’s a secret about barbecue joints in Florence only the locals know. I may lose my Palmetto Barbecue Association membership, but the truth must be told and I ain’t afraid. In Florence, only the true blue, genuine, bona fide, raised in the South barbecue joints serve Chicken Bog.

I’m just not going to reveal to you what Chicken Bog is. You need to find out on your own. I’ll simply just say you do not want to miss it and you can’t find it everywhere else.

Now, permit me to tell you about the real barbecue restaurants in Florence South Carolina. A few of them are almost famous, but a few of the very best one’s are supersecret. I am really just going to share with you about the two finest ones.

Bill Travis owns Wholly Smokin’ and he’s like the Rainman of Barbecue. If you meet him, you’ll probably think he doesn’t have a lick of sense, but when you taste his barbecue you’ll know you’re in the presence of a barbecue genius. Bill’s barbecue is so good it’ll make a Yankee move south.

Go over to Roger’s Barbecue if you’ve already tried Wholly Smokin and are ready for another taste of barbecue heaven. Roger’s offers a loaded menu of home style cooking. You’ll swear to god your own gran is back there in the kitchen. Where as Bill Travis has committed his lifetime to mastering the best barbecue. Roger was actually called up by The almighty himself to feed people the finest comfort food on the planet. Roger’s barbeque is doggone great, however you’ll wish to try out his fried chicken too plus his Mac and Cheese. Finish it off with home made blueberry custard. Gossip has it that the Governor eats there once a week. You’ll find Roger’s Barbecue at 2004 Second LP Street in Florence, or perhaps give them a call at 843-673-2727.

Okay, I got to wrap this up. A barbecue secret police SWAT team just pulled in my front yard. There’s much more I ‘d like to tell you however it’ll must wait for another time. Listen, you got to quit chewing on neoprene foam plastic and give the barbecue restaurants in Florence a whack. It’ll change your life.

EU bans all Indonesian airlines as well as several from Russia, Ukraine and Angola

Friday, June 29, 2007

The European Union banned all of Indonesia’s air carriers yesterday, none of which presently operate services to Europe, as well as several from Russia, Ukraine and Angola. They are the latest additions to the already extensive List of air carriers banned in the EU. The ban is scheduled to come into effect on July 6. Just hours after the ban a Boeing 737 operated by one of the blacklisted airlines, TAAG Angola Airlines, crashed into a house during landing, causing at least six fatalities in Northern Angola.

Indonesia currently has 51 airlines, having grounded several and revoked the licences of others on June 25. The EU said that substandard maintenance and operation and a slow reaction by Indonesia to solve the problem were the main causes of the ban. EU holidaymakers who have booked flights with banned airlines via travel agents will be refunded for the services.

EU transport commissioner Jacques Barrot said of the ban “Once more, the EU blacklist will prove to be an essential tool not only to prevent unsafe airlines from flying to Europe and to inform passengers travelling worldwide, but also to make sure that airlines and civil aviation authorities take appropriate actions to improve safety.”

Operations and safety editor at Flight International David Learmount commented that Indonesia, whose airline industry was deregulated the early 1990s, is one of a handful of cases where deregulation has lowered safety standards instead of improving them, saying of the move by the EU “Standards in aviation safety have been going up dramatically on a worldwide basis, but there are still places where they are [of the standards of] the 70s and 80s. In Indonesia the safety watchdog was told earlier this year to pull its socks up, but the EU is clearly convinced that it has not done so.”

One unnamed EU official was reported by The Guardian to have described Indonesia’s civil aviation authority as “not very reliable”, referring to a lack of reaction to warnings of an imminent ban and requests that Indonesia reassured officials that the problem was being dealt with.

Indonesia has responded to the ban by saying that, according to information unseen by the EU, Indonesian safety standards are rising. Director-general of civil aviation at the Indonesian transport ministry Budhi Mulyawan Suyitno told Reuters new agency that, “Our data can show them that we have improved on every line. The US had already downgraded Indonesia’s safety rating earlier this year.

Also affected by the bans are Ukraine’s Volare Aviation, while Russia has imposed bans on four of its airlines after consulting the EU and restricted six others, Bulgaria has revoked the licences of six cargo airlines and Moldova has banned eight airlines.

Meanwhile, Pakistan International Airlines, subject of a controversial EU ban earlier this year, had restrictions on some of its aircraft lifted. The airline’s fleet of Boeing 777s and some of their Boeing 747s and Airbus 310s will now be allowed back into European airspace.

The announcements come after three accidents involving Indonesian airliners – the New Year’s Day crash of Adam Air Flight 574, which killed 102 people, the subsequent accident involving Adam Air Flight 172, which cracked in half on a hard landing but held together, preventing serious injury, and the March crash of state-run Garuda Indonesia Flight 200, which claimed 23 lives. All the accidents involved ageing Boeing 737 aircraft.

What You Can Expect When You Need A Bail Bond Agency?

byAlma Abell

When an individual is arrested and taken to the police station the first thing that happens is that the individual is booked. During the booking process the details of the person are taken including fingerprints, mug shots and all details of the accusation are logged. From there the accused will be arraigned where a plea is entered, in most cases the plea is not guilty. At that time the judge will set bail for the temporary freedom of the accused, the amount of bail is normally commensurate with the crime although it can be pre-set for certain offenses or even the individuals recognizance.

If the amount of bail set by the court is more than can be paid by the accused, he or she will approach an agency that provides bail bonds in Minnesota. The bail bond agency will demand that the accused put up a percentage of the amount personally, usually 15 percent. The remainder is put up by the bail bonding agency. This money is designed to ensure that the accused appears in court on the day specified by the judge, if the individual does not show up; the bail bondsman will hire a bounty hunter who will attempt to locate and bring him into court. If this individual is successful a monetary reward will be paid by the agency that provided the bail bonds in Minnesota in the first place.

When a person finds himself arrested and accused of committing a crime, there is a time period between the date of the arrest and the date set for a court appearance. Rarely would the accused want to stay incarcerated during this period so bail for temporary freedom is set. One of the underlying premises of the US justice system is that the accused is considered innocent until proven otherwise so a judge will let the accused out of jail on bail. This temporary release is contingent on the accused being able to put up the amount of money as collateral for return to court.

If the crime in question is serious, the court will normally ask for a very large amount of bail, many accused cannot pay this so they turn to an agency that provides bail bonds in Minnesota to post it on their behalf. When the accused does show up for trial, the bail money is returned to the agency, including the 15 percent posted by the accused, this is the agencies profit.

If you have been arrested and accused of a crime you are welcome to contact Liberty Bail Bonds. Liberty bail bonds in Minnesota offer professional, courteous and friendly service 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Death toll of Bahrain tourist boat capsizing rises to 57

Saturday, April 1, 2006At least 57 people are now known to have died when a boat designed similar to a traditional dhow capsized one mile of the coast of Bahrain in the Persian Gulf. Seventeen were Indian and a further 13 of the dead are British; people of another six nationalities are also known to have died. The passengers were mostly foreigners from the Nass-Murray and Roberts construction company, and were enjoying an evening dinner cruise in celebration of their completion of part of the Bahrain World Trade Centre towers. Most who died were dining on the lower deck, and were trapped below.

Over 130 people were onboard the boat at the time, although some say the boat was only licensed to carry 120. Others say the limit was 150. Eyewitnesses say the boat was overloaded. The boat capsized in calm seas soon after it left, trapping many below. Helicopters from the US Navy searched for 13 missing persons until Friday morning, when the search was called off. The dhow had been modified to have an extra, higher deck making the vessel less stable. The exact cause is unknown – suggestions from eyewitnesses include the boat suddenly turning left, being hit by a wave, and many of the passengers moving to one side of the boat together. The Bahrain Interior Ministry is to investigate the accident and establish if the boat was seaworthy.

Canadian top court strikes down private medicare ban in Quebec

Thursday, June 9, 2005

Canada’s top court has struck down Quebec’s bans on private health care insurance, citing an increased risk to the life and health of Canadians. [1]

The Supreme Court of Canada ruling looked into a patient’s right to pay for faster service in a system that currently treats patients on the basis of equal access to medical care, regardless of income. [2]

Quebec patient George Zeliotis, a chemical salesman who waited in pain for more than a year in 1997 to have his hip replaced, said he should have had the right to pay for surgery.

Under public health care, it’s forbidden to pay for services covered under the system.

Despite free medical treatment, there are often long waiting lists for operations and services with current public health care.[3]

Together with physician, Dr. Jacques Chaoulli, Mr. Zeliotis launched a challenge to the Supreme Court of Canada, after losing their fight in Quebec’s lower courts, arguing that having to wait for surgery violates a patient’s constitutional right to life, liberty, and security of the person. [4]

Mr. Zeliotis and Dr. Chaoulli argued that being able to pay for private medical services wouldn’t be detrimental to the public health care system.

The Quebec Superior Court and the Quebec Court of Appeal had dismissed the case, ruling that the provincial law’s intent was not to discriminate among patients and to provide health care based on need rather than a patient’s ability to pay.

The Canadian Medical Association said the Superior Court of Canada ruling could “fundamentally change the health-care system in Canada as we now know it” but declined to comment any further until it had time to study the decision. [5]

Evergrande real estate firm makes missed September bond payment, avoids default

Saturday, October 23, 2021

China property giant Evergrande Group wired USD83.5 million in interest owed in an offshore bond from September 23 on Thursday, temporarily averting default, according to a Reuters source and Chinese newspaper Securities Times.

The wire to a Citibank fiduciary account following a 30-day grace period came after assurances by various members of the Chinese government, Reuters reported. At a Beijing forum Wednesday, Chinese Vice Premier Liu He described the risks as controllable, and chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission Yi Huiman said that while authorities needed to curb excessive debt more broadly by “improv[ing] the effectiveness of the constraint mechanism on debt financing”, the matter would be dealt with properly.

Once China’s top real estate developer, Evergrande had accumulated approximately USD305 billion in liabilities, two per cent of the Chinese gross national product, after “dwindling resources” cut its value by 80%, according to Reuters. September data revealed Chinese home sales by value fell by nearly 17% year-on-year, according to The Guardian, and fears over its default led to a slowdown in China’s third quarter GDP growth to a year low of 4.9%. Two sale negotiations with rival developers Hopson Development and Yuexiu, valued at USD2.6 billion and USD1.7 billion, respectively, were suspended, reportedly due to a lack of consent by the government of Guangdong province currently overseeing Evergrande’s restructuring.

News of Evergrande’s remittance caused its shares to rise by as much as 7.8% this morning after a two-week pause in trading for the anticipated sale of 50.1% in Evergrande Property Services Group, and offering some reprieve for bondholders, according to Reuters. Portfolio manager at GaoTeng Global Asset Management James Wong, interviewed by The Guardian, called the news “a positive surprise”, adding “[i]f Evergrande pays this time, I don’t see why it won’t pay the next time.” Jun Rong Yeap for IG Asia pte., interviewed by Bloomberg, said the report “overturned” the narrative “that Evergrande will face difficulty in securing cash ahead”.

Further missed payments are due October 29 and November 11 after similar 30-day grace periods; including yesterday’s USD83.5 million, nearly USD280 million is owed to bondholders.

Stocks have been down for many major Chinese developers: Reuters Wednesday reported year-to-date stock prices fell 87.8% for Sinic Holdings, currently in Fitch Ratings’ ‘restricted default’ after failing to make an October 18 bond payment valued, according to The Guardian, at USD246 million; 80.2% for Evergrande itself; 78.3% for E-House, 58.5% for Fantasia Holdings and 54.6% for Kaisa Group, which defaulted in 2015 and had bonds reach record lows.

Estimates of the Chinese real estate market’s size range from 16 to 25% of the Chinese gross domestic product, according to The Guardian. Chinese President Xi Jinping’s aim to transform the country’s economy from one of debt-fuelled “inflated” growth to one of improved “quality and returns” included imposing regulations on developers that limited their capacity to borrow. A Guardian comment piece from economist George Magnus published on October 15 made reference to China’s “ghost cities” and “rampant credit creation” that has given rise to high vacancy rates and the “financialisaton of housing”.

5 Space Saving Ideas For A Small Bedroom

By Danica Reynes

You need to select furniture that you only require, think about purchasing a bunk bed, do not use useless decorative items, take advantage of furniture which offer storage spaces, and arrange your things to their respective places to maximize space in a tiny bedroom.

Your bedroom is your exclusive sanctuary, a place that’s all yours where you can be comfortable and relaxed. The bedroom also becomes the default storage room for personal items that you do not want lying around in other parts of the house. Due to the fact that a few bedrooms have less floor space; they are more so often turn fussy and crowded. Fortunately, to maximize floor space, furniture such as a twin over full bunk bed can be used. Here are some other space-saving tips that you can follow:

Choose only furniture that you actually need

Furniture can easily overwhelm space. The movement and traffic inside the room are also affected by your furniture, thus it is wise to utilize furniture pieces sparingly in a room with limited space. Only purchase furniture that you really need. Instead of looking at its design, look at the functionality of each furniture piece. If your bedroom is not much used, a sofa or futon will suffice it rather than a large bed.

Consider bunk beds

You might want to use a bunk bed if you have a small room. This furniture maximizes space. Bunk beds are available in a wide variety of styles to meet the needs of everyone. There are loft beds that have a built-in storage compartment and even a desk. There are also bunk beds that can accommodate up to 4 people.

Do not decorate room with nonfunctional objects

Something to remember about furnishing a tiny room is to choose function before beauty. Since space is limited, don’t clutter it up with decorative objects that serve no actual purpose. Headboards and footboards are quite impractical for small bedrooms as they push the bed far from the wall and waste space between the bed and the wall that could otherwise be utilized. For an above-the-bed wall hanging, choose something that is flat and doesn’t take up a lot of space like a tapestry or quilt. Furthermore, ensure that you use less bulky doors for your bedroom and furniture.

Take advantage of furniture which offer storage spaces

Many pieces of furniture and bedroom items have dual purposes, with one of those purposes is to serve as storage space. Look for night stands or bedside furniture with drawers. Beds with drawers below the mattress are another option. Valances are also available with extra pockets. In addition to being decorative, the pockets of these box-pleated valances can be useful in providing storage spaces for magazines, slippers, and other items.

Keep everything in its right place

An easy secret to prevent bedroom clutter is to make certain that you keep all things in the correct places. Make the effort to organize your things regularly. Don’t let your clothes stay on the floor or pile books on your nightstand or someplace else.

It is possible to maximize a small bedroom. What is important is what you do with the space you have.
